Bookkeeper/Payroll Specialist

Driveline Solutions is seeking to add a full-time/part-time Bookkeeper to our exceptional team. We need you to have a understanding
of accounting, with a thorough understanding of accounting principles
and best practices, excellent organizational and time management skills,
an appreciation of clear and frequent communication, as well as a good
dose of common sense.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Consistently manage and reconcile bank feeds from numerous
  accounts, for numerous clients from a variety of verticals - up to and
  including a reconciliation report, researching exceptions along the way



• Create General Ledger accounts when warranted



• Review transactions for accuracy, researching and resolving anomalies while communicating these exceptions to management



• Manage accounts payable transactions, including storing related
  documentation for review and easy reference. Research transactions when
  warranted, using your best judgement



• Manage accounts receivable for timely payment from customers



• Prepare and enter Adjusting Journal Entries



• Prepare draft Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and General Ledger Reports against a consistent, pre-determined schedule

Additional Responsibilities:

• Review overall financial data providing insight into customer’s financial heatlh



• Prepare and reconcile small multi-platform payroll cycles, including reconciling to the G/L.



• Be familiar with manual payroll calculations including bonuses, overtime, tips



• Ad-hoc tasks including filling out forms and various reporting that
  will require autonomous research by calling regulatory agencies to
  verify we are following procedure (LA County, EDD, CDTFA etc)

During your first 30 days with us, you can expect all the support you
need, along with frequent work sessions with a manager to ask
questions, and gain confidence in the tasks assigned to you.

Necessary Skills/Traits:

• You must understand and respect the importance of clear and
  consistent communications regarding the status of the work being
  performed, any exceptions discovered that you aren’t able to resolve on
  your own, and pending questions.



• You’ll be using Quickbooks, various payroll providers, Google
  Sheets, and Google Email on a daily basis to do your job. Candidate must
  have experience with each.



• Deep knowledge of accounting best practices and principles, including the

General Ledger and Balance Sheet

• You are confident in your abilities to know when to use your best judgement and when to ask for help



• Time management is second nature to you



• You are comfortable with Quickbooks and familiar with moving between clients and industries easily



• Be resourceful, tenacious and willing to learn and ask questions

Requirements:

• Deep understanding of accounting best practices and principles, including the General Ledger and Balance Sheet.



• A verifiable work history showing your experience in accounting.



• Be a detail-oriented person who produces with a high-degree of accuracy and appreciates efficiency



• Have a professional workspace to work from, with a good laptop and great wifi.

• A degree in finance or accounting is preferred, but some type of accounting



• education is expected.

Experience:

• Bookkeeping: 1-4 years (Required)



• QuickBooks: 1-4 years (Preferred)
