Job Description

Join our team as a Maintenance Technician specializing in Metal Stamping. This is a direct hire position with union benefits after 90 days. We are looking for individuals who demonstrate 'best in class' behaviors, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and adherence to company policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate standard maintenance tools such as power tools, basic hand tools, and basic electrical testing equipment safely and effectively.
• Follow prescribed safety rules, regulations, and department policies.
• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs as assigned.
• Assist maintenance personnel by performing a variety of duties as directed.
• Detect, document, and report improper machine operation and faulty equipment.
• Understand and comply with LOTO, HAZ Com, PPE, Confined Space, and other safety programs.
• Train other maintenance staff as needed.
• Perform Maintenance Level 1 duties and responsibilities.
• Provide assistance to other maintenance technicians or machine operators.
• Use problem-solving methodologies to address issues.
• Support engineering by gathering information and beta testing engineering projects.
• Collaborate with machine service engineers for issue resolution.
• Follow emergency procedures regarding power failures.
• Demonstrate competence and proficiency in basic mechanical or electrical tasks.
• Perform basic welding tasks.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of technical training and 3+ years of maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical schematics.
• Experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance.
• Basic welding skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Comfortable working in a loud environment with heavy and sharp metal materials.
• Problem-solving skills using defined methodologies.
• Basic mechanical or electrical proficiency.
• No specific education or certificate requirement.

Work Environment

The facility is loud, with employees handling heavy and sharp metal materials. It is not temperature-controlled, so expect hot conditions in the summer and colder conditions in the winter. Steel-toed boots are required, as well as jeans or pants without holes, and either a long sleeve or short sleeve T-shirt. The role involves working with metal products like filters, fences, and gratings.

This is a Permanent position based out of Libertyville, IL.

The pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $72000.00/yr.
