Reports To: General Manager / Floor ManagerAbout the Role

Weâre looking for a warm, polished, and hospitality-minded Host to join our cocktail bar in Chicagoâs River North neighborhood. The Host is the first point of contact for every guest and plays a key role in creating an energetic, welcoming experience from the moment guests arrive.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent communication skills, and understands that great hospitality is about anticipating needs, staying composed under pressure, and making every guest feel genuinely welcome.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests with confidence, warmth, and professionalism
• Manage guest seating, reservations, waitlists, and table flow
• Provide accurate wait-time estimates and communicate updates to guests
• Coordinate closely with bartenders, servers, managers, and other members of the team
• Maintain an organized and efficient entry and waiting area
• Answer phones and respond to guest questions about reservations, menus, hours, and the bar experience
• Monitor the floor and help ensure a smooth flow of service
• Assist with guest requests and resolve minor concerns with professionalism
• Maintain a polished appearance and represent the barâs brand and hospitality standards
• Support the team with light side work and other operational tasks as needed
• Uphold all company policies, service standards, and safety requirements

What Weâre Looking For

• Previous hospitality, restaurant, or guest-facing experience preferred
• Genuine enthusiasm for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and friendly during busy service
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Professional, confident, and personable demeanor
• Reliable and punctual with a strong team mentality
• Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
• Interest in cocktails, nightlife, and Chicagoâs hospitality scene is a plus
