Collector
Salary: Up to $60k/year Collector - Springfield, IL Join a small, community-focused credit union where you can make a real difference! We're hiring a Collector to handle outbound communication with members who are 15-30 days delinquent on loans. You'll reach out via phone, text, letter, and email-documenting all interactions, following up on payment agreements, and managing repossessions or vehicle sales when needed. What You'll Do:
- Communicate with members to resolve past-due accounts (15-30 days delinquent)
- Handle outbound calls, texts, emails, and letters
- Document all activity accurately in the system
- Work with payment arrangements and follow-up commitments
- Manage repossessions and coordinate vehicle sales when necessary
- 2+ years of experience in collections , banking , or loan servicing
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Extremely organized , with excellent follow-up and attention to detail
- Self-sufficient , motivated, and able to handle multiple moving parts
- Sense of urgency and ability to manage difficult conversations professionally
- Smaller credit union = smaller teams, open-door leadership, and flexibility to truly help members
