Overview
System One has an exciting opportunity for Pipe Stress Engineer to support commercial nuclear projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform stress analyses for client projects involving modifications to existing power generation facilities and plant systems.
- Prepare piping and engineering specifications to support code compliance.
- Design and analyze modifications to existing power plants as well as new plant systems.
- Perform pipe stress calculations and develop design recommendations, isometrics, specifications, and design change packages.
- Lead design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design teams.
- Provide technical support for field execution, including outage/turnaround projects.
- Support constructability planning, proposal, and estimate development.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
- BS in Mechanical or Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university required.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of piping/mechanical design experience with a focus on pipe stress analysis projects in nuclear facilities, oil & gas or similar systems.
- Proficiency in AutoPIPE, GTStrudl, and Mathcad required.
- Knowledge of ME101, AutoPIPE, SuperPipe, AutoCAD, Laser Scanning and GTStrudl preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Laser Scanning, and related engineering software preferred.
- Professional Engineering License preferred.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication with clients, colleagues, and colleagues within other disciplines, project managers, and management.
- Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office, and CAD Software.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e. without the need for work sponsorship now or in the future).
