About the Role:

MK Group CPAs & Consultants LLC is looking for an experienced and driven Tax Manager to join our growing team in Oak Brook, IL. Responsibilities:

• Manage and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts
• Oversee tax planning and compliance engagements from start to finish
• Research complex tax issues and provide strategic guidance to clients
• Supervise, mentor, and develop junior tax staff and associates
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and advisory services
• Identify tax savings opportunities and risk mitigation strategies for clients
• Coordinate with IRS and state tax authorities on audits, notices, and correspondence

Requirements:

• CPA license required
• 3+ years of public accounting experience with a focus in tax
• Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state tax compliance and planning
• Experience managing multiple client engagements and deadlines simultaneously
• Proficiency with tax preparation software MAINLY LACERTE (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, or similar)
• Excellent analytical, communication, and client-facing skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; Master's in Taxation a plus
• Auditing and Taxing rental real estate and working extensively in the field of affordable housing.
• Knowledge of Section 42 Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Program and a variety of HUD programs
• Knowledge and experienced in K1 K2 and K3.
