Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled Technician to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial to maintaining the high standards of service and quality that Sutton's is known for. As a Service Technician, you will be the frontline in addressing service-related callbacks across a broad spectrum of home improvement projects including roofing, siding, replacement windows, doors, gutters, decks, sunrooms, and select remodeling projects. Some of this will be warranty work that requires installation for certain products. (This is not an entry-level position.)

Key Responsibilities:

This is not a desk job. This role is field-based and hands-on. It is not a customer service position— prior experience with installation, repair, or construction is required.

-Service & Repair - Efficiently handle service tickets and requests involving roofing, siding, windows, doors, gutters, decks, sunrooms, and remodeling projects. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, diagnosing issues, and executing repairs or adjustments to ensure proper functionality and customer satisfaction.

-Quality Assurance -Perform thorough assessments to accurately diagnose problems with products or installations. Ensure all completed work meets the high standards and craftsmanship associated with the Sutton’s brand.

-Customer Interaction - Communicate professionally and respectfully with customers while on-site. Provide clear explanations of issues and solutions, respond promptly to service calls, and ensure their concerns are fully addressed.

-Technical Expertise - Maintain current knowledge of industry standards, new products, and modern installation techniques. Apply this expertise to deliver top-tier service and repairs across all product lines.

-Documentation - Complete all required paperwork, service documentation, warranty forms, and follow-up reports. Keep accurate records of job status, materials used, and resolutions provided.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a service technician in the home improvement industry, with a broad knowledge of products and services related to roofing, siding, windows, doors, and more.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a commitment to resolving customer issues with a positive outcome.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and manage service calls effectively.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in trade school or relevant field is a plus.

- Hourly Pay range for this position is currently $22 to $28 per hour

Service Technician Job Requirements:

1. Positive Attitude: Approach all tasks and challenges with a can-do attitude, ensuring a positive work environment and customer interactions.

2. Roofing Experience: Demonstrated experience in roofing, including knowledge of materials, installation techniques, and repair methods.

3. No Fear of Heights: Comfortable working at heights, with the ability to safely navigate roofing and other elevated project sites.

4. Verifiable Work Experience: Must have proven work experience in the home improvement industry or a closely related field, with references to validate skills and performance.

5. Valid Driver's License: Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record to travel to job sites and service calls.

6. Positive Background Check: Successful completion of a background check, confirming professionalism and suitability for the role.

7. Own Tools: Possession of a full set of tools necessary for performing a wide range of service and repair tasks.

8. Truck: Ownership of or access to a truck suitable for transporting tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites.
