HOPE - Child and Family Counseling is seeking compassionate, experienced mental health counselors to provide professional care to our clients. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting mental health evaluations, developing treatment plans, and facilitating individual, family, and group interventions. Specialties in specific populations and treatments are a plus, as each counselor brings their expertise and experience to HOPE and enhances our teaming approach to quality therapy. Training and mentorship are strong components offered at HOPE.

To ensure success, mental health counselors should be familiar with the latest developments in psychotherapy and be comfortable collaborating with other healthcare professionals. Outstanding candidates exhibit exceptional clinical insight and extensive counseling experience.

Mental Health Counselor Responsibilities:

• Conducting preliminary interviews and documenting cases from the initial consultation to the end of treatment.
• Evaluating clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health.
• Developing appropriate intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions.
• Monitoring progress throughout the treatment plan.
• Collaborating on intervention plans with other mental health specialists, doctors, nurses, and social workers.
• Following up with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients admitted to the hospital.
• Identifying and preventing behaviors that impede recovery.
• Assisting family members and primary caregivers to manage mental behavioral challenges.

Mental Health Counselor Requirements:

• Current practitioner license through the Illinois or Wisconsin clinical therapy board
• A CACREP-accredited master's degree in mental health counseling, or similar.
• State-approved license to practice as a mental health counselor.
• Previous experience as a mental health counselor.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and sympathetic nature.
• Able to make professional evaluations, decisions, and recommendations for treatment planning and implementation
• Able to work independently and as a positive member of a team
• Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
• Experience in trauma therapy, play therapy, CBT, family systems therapy, couples therapy, or adolescent therapy is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits: We offer per diem pay of $50/$60 per clinical hour to our newly hired employees, and a bonus of $60/$75 per clinical hour when more than 24 client hours are performed in a given week. Supervision is provided at no cost. Full-time mental health counselors at HOPE average 24 clients a week in a 48-week year and can earn top dollars in the field. Full-time employees qualify for medical insurance. All employees qualify for our 401(k) match of up to 3.5% of gross earnings and company-paid life insurance.
