What you will be doing: Responsible for the supervision of the maintenance
department in compliance with government and management directives, regulations, and laws.
Essential Functions:
- Plan, coordinate and manage the administrative and maintenance services of the department.
- Evaluate staff performance, provide staff training and recommend department and personnel changes
- to the director, facility, and administration.
- Assist the director, finance and administration in the development of departmental budget; monitor and
control expenditures. Assess internal controls to safeguard all facility, maintenance departmentequipment, and supplies. Make improvements where necessary.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new and revised policies and procedures affecting
facility maintenance.of services to students. Prepare related reports.improvement and preventive maintenance in compliance with program requirements and safety/buildingcodes.effective work order system. Monitor daily productivity of staff members to reduce inefficiencies andminimize task completion.descriptions, and preventive maintenance checks.
- Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery
- Conduct regular inspection of buildings, grounds and equipment to ensure proper repair, facility
- Perform maintenance and custodial tasks on buildings, grounds and equipment as needed; maintain an
- Coordinate with other center staff to determine maintenance needs.
- Prepare and maintain appropriate management records such as equipment inventory, building systems
- Demonstrate alignment with and a clear understanding of the mission of Job Corps.
- Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually life, move, pull, push, or carry materials or objects.
- Occasionally requires reaching, bending, stooping, or standing.
- Requires prolonged sitting.
- Requires the ability to work in noisy and crowded environments.
- Occasionally requires working outdoors to participate with academic or program related activities
- Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment.
- Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers
- Participate in student employability programs and activities
- Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy
- Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions
- Maintain accountability of staff, students and property; adhere to safety practices. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree and two years related experience.
- Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of
- formal education requirements.
- Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communications skills and
computer proficiency required.
