The Opportunity
This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL location in the diagnostics division.
As the Leader Technical Support II, you'll provide direction, leadership and management of all scientific regulatory, marketing, compliance and customer support activities for a product family and/or processes. Accomplish goals related to expanded internal investigations, expanded complaint investigations, design control, new product development, product availability and financial performance. Foster continuous improvement. Plan and manage financial, capital, and human resource needs. Actively support the personal and professional development of individuals. Acts as a liaison to management and associated functional groups. Accountable for internal/external customer satisfaction.
What You'll Work On

Quality/Safety: Demonstrate an understanding of the application of the Quality Policy through daily activities.

Maintain vigilance to ensure adherence to the Quality Policy and system procedures by promptly reporting noncompliance issues to management.

Technical Knowledge: Develop and apply operations/ product/ process knowledge to (area of support). Use sound judgment, appropriate scientific methods and thorough data analysis.

Planning/Project Management: Conceive, plan, design, execute, and document projects/activities efficiently and in conformance with applicable OPs.

Patient Focus: Anticipates, identifies and resolves internal and external customer issues through understanding of processes, product performance and clinical utility.

Communication/Leadership: Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills within and outside immediate area.

Shares and enhances own knowledge by mentoring and training others.

Business Focus/Alignment: Demonstrates fiscal responsibility through actionable recommendations and accomplishments such as maintaining product availability and improvements in product sustainability.

Leadership and mentorship of a group of approximately 5-20 non-exempt/exempt employees.

Identifies personal and professional development objectives and plans to achieve them

Accountable for a product or product family, delivery technology(s),and/or processes at one or more sites.

Provides any needed support to Operations and AQA.

Accountable for budget performance within the area. Plans and manages budget and updates, recommends plans to resolve resource and financial gaps. Projects, explains, and resolves variances.

Cultivates relationships with internal and external customers and develops strong networks throughout the company and industry.

Makes timely scientific, operational, and business decisions.

Appropriately elevates high risk decisions. Ensures effective GMP/ISO practices within the team.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelors Degree (± 16 years) in a scientific / technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Masters Degree or Doctorate Degree preferred.

Minimum 10 years in a related scientific / technical field.

Experience includes leading others at multiple levels in project management, product development/ launch / on-market leadership, crisis management, customer interactions.

Proven ability to develop others. Knowledge and understanding of business metrics. Experience includes multiple functions (R&D, TPD, QA, OPs, etc), products, and/or platforms.

Experience with resource planning, budgetary management, and personnel administration.

The base pay for this position is $113,300.00 - $226,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
