Structural Engineering Team Leader - Transportation
Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Structural Engineering Team Leader to manage and grow a transportation structural group. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex highway, transit, and rail infrastructure projects while fostering team development, operational excellence, and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and technicians, managing resources and professional growth
- Oversee project portfolios for technical quality, budget adherence, and timely delivery
- Support business development through proposal preparation, client engagement, and industry representation
- Ensure compliance with structural design standards, including AASHTO LRFD and AREMA
- Manage operational functions including budgeting, scheduling, and team recruitment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align with organizational growth strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- Professional Structural Engineer (S.E.) license required; PE preferred
- Minimum 15 years of structural engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of highway, transit, and rail design standards and regulatory requirements
- Proven ability in project management, business development, and client relationship management
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary range: $179,000–$205,000 (based on experience)
