Job Description
We’re excited to add a Technical Product Manager, Software to our growing Connected Products Water team! This is a high-impact opportunity to shape the future of Moen’s whole home water ecosystem.
We're seeking an execution-oriented, customer-obsessed and partner-obsessed product leader with a passion for technologies that bridge software and hardware in the connected home. This role reports directly to the Vice President Software Product Management (FBIN).
POSITION LOCATION:
This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday onsite) at our offices in San Francisco, CA, or Deerfield, IL.
RESPONSIBLIITIES:
- Drive experiences related to the Moen Smart Water Network across mobile, backend, which is used to manage our Smart Shutoff Valve, and additionally connects showers, faucets, irrigation systems, and more.
- Lead end-to-end innovation and launches of new offerings, new features, and new products, often with limited direction.
- Serve as a software product owner for large Agile teams across design, firmware, backend, mobile, and QA disciplines.
- Collaborate with engineers to influence system architecture and technical direction.
- Partner with cross-functional teams – including customer support, IT, marketing, legal - to bring new products, categories, and ecosystem features to market.
- Refine and evolve shared platform features across teams.
- Operate in an Agile environment, continuously refining priorities, milestones, and deliverables.
- Align product vision, strategy, and roadmap with stakeholders and internal customers.
- Define, own, and execute product plans for assigned initiatives.
- Establish clear outcomes and team OKRs, including UX specs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Manage and prioritize the sprint backlog.
- Lead product discovery and design based on a deep understanding of users and technology.
- Monitor post-launch product performance to guide future investment decisions.
Qualifications
- 3+ years in software product management or related fields (QA, development, TPM, product design); 1+ year in connected products preferred.
- 2+ years hands-on experience with mobile application development.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (or equivalent experience); MBA is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency with Jira or similar tools.
- Deep experience with Agile methodologies.
- Strong foundation in software development.
- Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and guide decisions on feasibility, trade-offs, and costs.
- Proven experience designing and launching subscription-based offerings, with a strong track record of growing and retaining a loyal subscriber base.
- Expertise in mobile (iOS and Android), cloud services, firmware, and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi connectivity.
- Passionate about user-centered design and improving user experiences through data and feedback.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and adept at driving clarity.
- Skilled in managing software platforms and ecosystems with multiple product and technical dependencies.
- Experience in whole home water solutions, data science , or machine learning is a bonus.
Additional Information
Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $80,000 USD - $126,500 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
