Overview

Gallagher has an industry leading internship and early career program. Our intern program has over 55 years of history and tremendous leadership involvement. Can you help take it to the next level? Here's your chance to support university relations activity and program development in the US.

Reporting to the Early Talent Operations Manager, the Early Talent Specialist will be instrumental in driving success of early talent program operations. This role will organize and support delivery of impactful early talent programs, including in-person conferences, enhance external talent sourcing strategies, strengthen stakeholder engagement and overall drive operational excellence.

Success in this position requires comfort in navigating ambiguity, strong organizational skills, proactive communication skills, and a willingness to engage in both design and tactical implementation. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment with evolving seasonal activities and is energized by variety and pace of change.

How you'll make an impact

  • Provide support for a wide range of operational projects and tasks within Early Talent programs, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with program objectives.
  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of events (virtual, in-person, and hybrid), including managing timelines, event logistics, and on-site support.
  • Develop and implement innovative external candidate sourcing and engagement strategies for university recruitment, leveraging market trends to build and maintain a strong talent pipeline.
  • Design and administer program satisfaction surveys to assess employee and stakeholder program perceptions, analyze key findings, and prepare insights reports with actionable items
  • Support development and execution of strategic communications plans across Early Talent programs. Create visual and written content for internal and external channels (newsletters, program materials, digital and social media, video, etc.)
  • Maintain intranet website with program materials, updates, and key messaging (SharePoint) and external careers page with video testimonials, program promotion and digital content.
  • Assist with occasional administrative duties as assigned
About You

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree; No related experience required.
  • Strong MS Office skills.

Highly Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing or closely related field required
  • Able to travel up to 15% within the US (if located outside of Chicagoland)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ progressive experience in communications, media relations, marketing, human resources, learning & development, or event coordination
  • Ability to perform in a high visibility team environment – effectively multitask and handle competing projects, high attention to detail across all communications, strong individual contributor with sense of initiative
  • Thrives in a dynamic environment with a variety of activities and shifting priorities that adapt to seasonal demands.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills; ability to develop relationships both internally and externally.
  • Strong focus on client experience. Demonstrate understanding of how storytelling can efficiently connect and engage an audience.
  • Shown ability to write in various styles including organizational communications, storytelling, and promotional writing.
  • Proficiency in PC applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) along with social media and digital technology skills
  • A strong passion for developing an early talent career pipeline

We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
