Lab Specimen Processor (Spring 2024)

Position: Lab Specimen Processor

Location: Winfield, IL

Job Responsibilities:

Accountable for receiving, processing, labeling, distributing specimens

Performing non-high complexity testing as required

Perform customer service duties and other clerical duties as the job dictates

Maintain organization of work while multi-tasking

Communicates and collaborates effectively; includes information regarding problem solving with specimens, test cancellations, testing requirements, billing requirements with various hospital staff

Demonstrates an ability to learn the job duties assigned to the hospital and develops an understanding of the company processes, compliance policies, test ordering information, computer system

Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing

Pick up and deliver samples to clients/hospitals

Unpack and route specimen to their respective staging areas

Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples

Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner

Requirements:

Demonstrates strong communication, organization, and documentation skills

High School Diploma/Associates required

Healthcare background/experience or interest in field
