Hours: Mon - Friday 4:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Sat - Sun 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Hiring Range: $16.00 - $17.00
JOB SUMMARY
Under direction from the Pavilion Fitness Assistant Manager, duties include performing walkthroughs of the fitness center throughout the assigned shift, checking for safety and enforcing all fitness center rules and regulations. In addition, must perform normal, weekly and monthly cleaning of all equipment in the fitness center. Normal maintenance includes cleaning, proper sanitation and minor servicing of all equipment. Other duties include completing each shift with a progress report, shift inspections to determine necessary repairs and perform other Fitness Center maintenance duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Maintain communication link between Fitness Center Members and Guests, Fitness Center Management Team, Fitness Center Equipment Maintenance, Fitness Center Membership Services, and Fitness Center Part Time Staff and the District Security Team.
- Perform walkthroughs of the fitness center throughout the assigned shift, checking for safety and enforcing all fitness center rules and regulations
- Maintain and perform all duties associated with cleaning equipment and cleanliness of the fitness floor, studios, men and women's locker rooms and Rejuvenation. This includes, but is not limited to, wiping down equipment, cleaning up trash and cleaning mirrors and floors
- Perform minor repairs
- Willingly assist Fitness Center members
- Provide tours to prospective members and guests
- Provide equipment orientations when necessary
- Assist Front Desk Personnel when necessary
- Assist with facility set-ups such as Wallyball or Racquetball and necessary Open Gym set-ups as needed
- Performs the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work and safety rules
- Be familiar with the safe operation of any equipment necessary in accomplishing required tasks
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist the Fitness Center Management Team in providing a high level of personalized attention and leadership for the Fitness Center Members and Guests
- Assist in tracking positive and negative responses/comments involving all facets of the Fitness Center
- Assist in conducting member and participant surveys
- Must be trained on PDRMA procedures
- Report and meet with the management team to establish policies and discuss Fitness Center progress
- Assists other District departments when necessary
- Attend staff or department meetings
- Adheres to all Fitness Center policies and procedures
- Adheres to all departmental and Park District policies and procedures
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS
- General work area is indoors, in a smoke-free environment with controlled temperature and indoor lighting
- Must work around the general population
- Subject to modified/flexible work schedule
- Able to work under stressful situations when First Aid or CPR is required, including the ability to respond quickly and accurately to any and all emergencies
- Physical agility to maintain mobility from site to site

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Consistent knowledge of equipment and maintenance procedures.
- Must maintain knowledge of mechanical and general tool usage.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
