Job Description

Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures to the design, development, and enhancement of new and currently marketed medical devices, including external defibrillators, external pacemakers, and monitors. Design, test, and document new circuitry, as well as modify existing circuitry in systems and subsystems, including those related to analog, digital, power supply, isolation, and high voltage functionality. Work closely with other electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to design, develop, and support complete systems and subsystems. Collaborate with outside vendors and contractors to accomplish tasks and support Manufacturing and Quality Assurance groups as required to debug or improve existing designs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct design and development activities for medical devices.

• Document all engineering activities meticulously.

• Perform debugging, testing, or qualification of designs.

• Engage in projects related to engineering activities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent.

• 3+ years of electrical engineering and product design experience.

• Experience in medical or other highly regulated industry is strongly desired.

• Experience with electrical engineering test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.

• Proficiency in electrical design, schematic, hardware, Cadence Allegro, analog, digital.

• Ability to execute a hardware test plan and propose solutions to failures.

• Experience with digital electronics.

• Medical device experience highly preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Palatine, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
