Location: Chicago, IL

Salary: $145,000.00 USD Annually - $165,000.00 USD Annually

Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in downtown Chicago. This hybrid role requires only one day per week onsite, offering flexibility and a collaborative environment. As a key member of our team, you will develop software that serves millions of users, leveraging your expertise in building large-scale production systems across both front-end and back-end development.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop High-Quality Code: Utilize Spring Boot and Kotlin to create robust, well-tested software.
• Front-End Development: Design and implement user-friendly interfaces using React.
• Microservices Architecture: Leverage REST API features to enhance our microservices framework.
• Production Issue Resolution: Address and resolve production issues within Kubernetes.
• Collaborative Solutions: Work closely with other engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Agile Practices: Participate in Agile ceremonies and advocate for process improvements.
• Tech Stack Utilization: Employ AWS, SQL, Postgres, Snowflake, Terraform, and other tools to maintain and enhance software solutions.
  
  

Required Skills

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
• Professional Experience: 4+ years of software engineering in a production environment.
• Programming Proficiency: Strong experience with Java, Kotlin, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar languages.
• Database Expertise: Proficient with SQL and relational databases.
• Cloud Experience: Solid background in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Version Control: Hands-on knowledge and experience with Git.

• Front-End Development: Experience with TypeScript and React.
• Containerization: Kubernetes experience.
• Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with Datadog and bitbucket.
• CI/CD Pipelines: Implementation and automation experience.
• Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Terraform.
• Remote Collaboration: Comfortable working with remote colleagues.
• Mentorship: Previous experience mentoring and training engineers.
