Estimator - Construction

Location: Saint Charles, IL
Schedule: 7am-4pm
Pay Rate: $80,000-$100,000
Work Schedule: Onsite, Monday through Friday
Employment Type: Direct Hire

Scope:
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of construction means, methods, and materials. The Estimator will collaborate closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure estimates align with project goals and company objectives.

Accountabilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates across all divisions based on architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.

• Conduct quantity takeoffs, analyze costs, and use estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, or Sage Estimating.

• Review project plans, specifications, and addenda for completeness and constructability.

• Solicit, review, and compare subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure scope alignment and competitiveness.

• Develop conceptual, schematic, and design development estimates through all preconstruction phases.

• Identify and recommend value engineering opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

• Collaborate with Project Managers, the Preconstruction Director, and Operations to ensure project strategy and execution alignment.

• Support project transition meetings to provide a smooth handoff to the operations team.

• Maintain and update cost databases, unit pricing, and historical cost records.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• 3–7 years of estimating experience within commercial or industrial construction.

• Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and sequencing.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and estimating software.

• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

• Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
