ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide fast, friendly, professional and responsive customer service to restaurant guests and restaurant staff. Greet, and make feel welcome, every guest entering restaurant and hotel.
  • Greet and acknowledge guests while smiling and making eye contact.
  • Recognize repeat guests while smiling and making eye contact.
  • Build a rapport with guests while walking them to the table.
  • Pull out chairs and/or tables before guests are seated.
  • Accommodate guests needs, i.e. wheel chair, restrooms, movement of drinks from one location to another, etc.
  • Act as a liaison between management and service staff.
  • Communicate guest complaints and compliments to management.
  • Communicates guests’ needs to staff/management, i.e. celebrating anniversary and/or birthday, etc.
  • Invite and welcome guests back upon completion of their visit.
  • Alerts the kitchen of business flow, i.e. how many guests will soon be ordering, how many guests are waiting to be seated, etc.
  • Walk the floor and provides floor updates to management, i.e. how many open tables, etc.
  • Ensure that guest seating is rotated between all service stations ton optimize service.
  • Answer telephone, take new reservations and maintain current reservations within procedural guidelines.
  • Master Tock reservation system within two days.
  • Must be knowledgeable about The Godfrey Hotel and I|O Godfrey.
  • Must be knowledgeable about surroundings, i.e. nearby entertainment, stores, etc.
  • Perform all duties in adherence to the company standards.
  • Must have the ability to provide friendly, courteous and professional service to all internal and external customers/guests, at all times.
  • Perform all duties and sequences of service in adherence to standards.
  • Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule and late hours when necessary.
  • Must have the ability to report to work on time and on a regular basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand (a minimum of 8 hours); walk; and use hands to touch, handle, or feel, grasp, and hold objects, tools, or controls. The Employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms; balance (service trays, glasses included); stoop; crouch; bend; talk; hear; taste; smell. The employee may be required to frequently climb (stairs). The employee is occasionally required to kneel. The employee must occasionally lift, carry, pull and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
