Contract Duration: 3 Months (with strong potential for extension up to 1 year)
Pay Rate: $40–$45/hour
Employment Type: W-2 Only (U.S. Citizens Only – No Visa Sponsorships)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and highly skilled Business HR Manager to deliver expert-level employee relations support across multiple business units. This role is based 100% onsite at our Abbott Park, IL location and plays a key part in resolving employee relations (ER) matters, ensuring compliance with employment laws and policies, and delivering high-impact HR solutions. This is a 3-month contract with strong potential for extension to 1 year based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a subject matter expert in employee relations, providing consultative and problem-solving services to managers, employees, and HR partners
• Lead and resolve ER investigations and manage cases from intake through resolution
• Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal employment laws , as well as internal policies
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of ER cases and documentation
• Define, lead, or manage ER-related projects and process improvement initiatives
• Provide ER-related training to business units and serve as a trusted advisor on policy interpretation
• Support continuous improvement of ER services to meet defined service level agreements
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders to develop practical and scalable solutions to workplace issues
• Balance legal, business, and employee needs when designing and implementing ER strategies
• Leverage project management tools and practices to oversee ER initiatives, identify risks, and implement contingency plans
• Influence across the organization through strong interpersonal skills and HR acumen

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Employee Relations, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Employee Relations or broader HR roles
• Deep knowledge of HR regulations, policies, and procedures , including compliance frameworks
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex and sensitive situations independently
• Excellent judgment, communication, and relationship-building skills
• High level of discretion and professionalism when managing confidential matters
• Project management skills including scope, cost, and resource tracking
• Strong analytical thinking with the ability to see broad implications of ER decisions
