Marketing and Content Coordinator
Position Overview
This dynamic, full-time role combines marketing, event planning, business development, and administrative support. Working collaboratively with Chamber leadership and staff, the Coordinator helps implement strategic initiatives, manage member relationships, communications, and ensure successful execution of Chamber & Tourism programs and events. The position requires flexibility, including occasional evenings and weekends, and a willingness to take on a variety of responsibilities as organizational needs evolve.Key Responsibilities
Primary ResponsibilitiesProvide professional marketing and content support to members, the public, and the organization.
Assist with daily operations and internal team coordination Support Chamber & Tourism programs, initiatives, and strategic goals Marketing & CommunicationsAssist with integrated marketing campaigns, branding, digital content, and promotional outreach
Collaboratively manage social media, website updates, email communications, and storytelling content Support member engagement, tourism promotion, sponsorship visibility, and community awareness efforts Event Planning & CoordinationAssist in the planning, promotion, and execution of Chamber and Tourism events, networking programs, and community initiatives
Support event logistics including vendors, registrations, sponsorships, communications, and on-site coordination Collaborate with staff, committees, volunteers, businesses, and community partners Core DutiesManage marketing communications via multiple channels throughout the organization
Lead website and social media channel updates, while assisting with publications and promotional materials Represent the Chamber at events and in the Community This position offers the opportunity to be part of a collaborative team dedicated to supporting local businesses, strengthening community connections, and promoting Genesee County as a vibrant place to live, work, and visit.Qualifications
Required Skills & AbilitiesAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, with a creative mindset. Proficiency in Microsoft O365, Windows-based software, social media platforms, digital marketing tools, marketing creative software, and familiarity with CRM systems; database experience. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred QualificationsExperience in marketing, communications, business operations, and event programming.
Associate degree in marketing, communications, or related field and/or (5)+ years of relevant experience. Personal Attributes Professional, personable, and customer-focused with strong relationship-building skills Self-motivated and adaptable with a positive, team-oriented mindset Creative thinker with the ability to contribute new ideas and solutions Strong work ethic with a willingness to take initiative and support team goals Flexible and dependable, with the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed Compensation Full-time; hourly, non-exempt (Mon-Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm; occasional evenings/weekends). Salary Range: $21$24/hour ($45,000$50,000 annually) Paid holidays, vacation, SIMPLE IRA match, health insurance contribution, and flexible scheduling.
