Position: Estimator / Salesperson Company: DFranco Painting & Wallpaper Location: Crystal Lake, Elgin, St. Charles, IL Compensation Structure: Commission Only (7–12% on closed jobs + performance bonuses) Employment Type: 1099 Independent Contractor

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments with homeowners to assess and quote painting, wallpaper, or cabinet refinishing projects
• Conduct on-site evaluations and walkthroughs to gather accurate project information
• Utilize estimating software and quoting tools to generate detailed quotes on-site
• Guide homeowners through the sales process, focusing on closing estimates on-site with a goal of a 50% close rate
• Assist in lead generation through cold calling and door-to-door efforts when not conducting estimates
• Collaborate with the team to ensure seamless project execution from estimate to completion

Requirements

• Proven experience in sales and/or estimating (painting industry experience is a plus)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in estimating
• Ability to handle objections and close effectively
• Willingness to engage in lead generation (cold calling, door-to-door outreach)
• Familiarity with software-based estimating tools
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Eagerness to learn and attend sales training
