Endocrinology Practice – seeking PART-TIME office receptionist

Location: Highland Park, IL ---GREAT LOCATION---directly across from Metra train station

A single physician, thriving medical practice with a unique, rewarding patient population, specialized in hormone health hiring a part-time receptionist.

Looking for a reliable, friendly person with excellent interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn and perform a variety of duties. Due to the small office environment (one physician, one full time receptionist and a phlebotomist), there is a great deal of autonomy, but dependability is a must. The position requires patience and an ability to maintain the utmost composure and compassion when communicating with patients. Our goal is to create a professional yet warm medical office environment for the patients and customer service is our highest priority. Our patients are the center of all that we do and making sure every single interaction; be it in person, over the phone or online is exceptional is absolutely critical.

Your responsibilities in this valued position include:

1) In our office, you are the first face patients see. You will greet and attend to all patients making them feel warm and welcome. Every patient interaction requires friendliness, patience and compassion.

2) Answer all incoming phone calls from patients in a timely manner, interact with pharmacies, and other physician offices as well as managing incoming faxes/scans and emails.

3) Schedule all patient appointments and actively manage the office schedule to optimize the office flow and the patient’s experience in the office.

4) Register patients both in person and for telehealth visits; verify insurance information through the electronic medical record, obtain office policy consents, store payment information.

5) Verify specific coverage/benefits through communication with insurance companies.

6) Take patient payments at time of visits as well as follow up transactions.

7) Order and maintain office and medical supplies.

8) Access insurance claim information.

9) Help with specific billing tasks and insurance payment follow up through electronic medical record

Medical Receptionist Requirements:

1. Experience in a medical office preferred, but not required. If willing to learn, we can train you.

2. Experience or proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record is a significant advantage however able to train new hire on EPIC for all necessary activities.

3. Working knowledge of some medical terminology or highly motivated to learn.

4. Excellent communication and documentation skills.

5. Independent worker, able to recognize and solve varied problems that arise.

6. Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient and doctor information.

Hours/Benefits:

1) Hours are MONDAY-FRIDAY 12pm-4pm (20 hours/week)

2) Compensation is $25/hour

3) 4 weeks PTO – includes sick days and vacation

4) Medical/Dental insurance, 401K – not offered
