CAD Designer

**CAD Designer: Rockford, IL

**

Our client is seeking a CAD Designer to join its growing engineering team. This role is responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining detailed technical drawings and 3D models that support product design, manufacturing, and engineering initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong designer who enjoys collaborating with engineering and production teams while supporting customized customer solutions.

**Key Responsibilities:

**

• Develop detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software

• Create component and assembly drawings as well as inspection sheets for manufacturing

• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to create and modify routings and Bills of Materials (BOMs)

• Develop designs and drawings for custom customer orders

• Generate documentation required to implement Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)

• Review and research Engineering Change Requests (ECRs)

• Assist production teams in identifying appropriate materials and components

• Provide technical support to internal teams when needed

• Assist with troubleshooting and improving manufacturing processes

• Evaluate incoming Request for Quotation (RFQs) for manufacturability and technical feasibility

• Reverse engineer customer parts by measuring and generating sketches and drawings

**Skills & Experience:

**

• **Education

  **: Minimum of an Associate Degree in Mechanical Design or Engineering Technology, required

• **Experience

  **: Creating drawings in accordance with ANSI Y14.1 and Y14.5, strongly preferred

• **Knowledge:

**Read & interpret engineering drawings & blueprints,

• **Software:

  **CAD,

  ** SolidWorks, strongly preferred

** $70,000 - $90,000/year
