Manual Machinist
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our dynamic team in Chicago, IL, 60638. In this role, you will be responsible for operating manual machining equipment to produce high-quality parts and components. Responsibilities
- Mastery of manual lathe and mill work
- Experience with large parts and tight tolerances
- Ability to hold total indicated runout (TIR) and straighten shafts to within 0.001” TIR
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, including GD&T, and close tolerances
- Self-motivated team player, enjoys being busy, can prioritize jobs effectively
- Strong work ethic, reliable, constructive attitude
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machining is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
