Team Lead
Color Me Mine is a paint-your-own-pottery franchise that makes the unique and creative experience of pottery painting accessible for people of all ages. At Color Me Mine, our guests choose from a wide selection of unpainted ceramic pieces, and get to make memories with those around them. They get to personalize their chosen pottery by painting it with their own designs and colors. There are over 120 studios in the United States and Canada. We want to create a wonderful environment for our guests as well as for our team to thrive in!
Position Summary:
As a Studio Team Lead, you’ll support the Studio Manager by supervising daily studio operations, coaching and mentoring team members, and ensuring every guest receives a memorable and top-notch creative experience. You’ll combine your passion for customer service, leadership, and the arts to help our studio thrive.
Previous art experience is not required — we will train you.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and support studio team members during shifts.
- Help onboard and train new staff on customer service, painting guidance and techniques, POS operations, studio procedures, and safety practices.
- Step in to resolve team challenges or service issues with professionalism and a positive attitude.
- Kiln room operations
- Greet guests and assist them throughout the painting process: explain steps, and provide positive encouragement.
- Operate register/cashier for guest check-in, sales of studio items, and payments.
- Open/close register - count drawer, remove deposit
- Prepare and clean up pottery pieces: glaze, fire in the kiln, and bag finished items for pick-up.
- Support and/or facilitate birthday parties, group events, themed nights (e.g., family nights, date nights).
- Maintain studio cleanliness and organization: clear tables, refill paint supplies, sweep/separate trash as needed.
- Help promote studio events and specials, upsell add-on items (glazing, specialty pieces, gifts).
- Work opening or closing tasks as assigned: setting up for the day/ next day, being prepared for all events, ect
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
- Adhere to all studio policies and ensure a high-quality customer experience.
- Be an active part of creating a wonderful environment for our guests as well as a great environment for all of us to work in
Qualifications:
- Age 18+
- High energy, positive attitude, outgoing and friendly with a strong customer service orientation.
- Comfortable working on your feet in a fast-paced, active environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling (including weekends/holidays).
- Basic retail or customer service experience preferred but not required. Some familiarity with cash register operations or point-of-sale systems is helpful but we will be training all team members on this.
- Good communication skills and ability to engage with guests of all ages (children, families, adults).
- Ability to follow instructions, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independently.

Scheduling and Compensation
Pay rate: $17-19/hour plus opportunities for additional tips
Scheduled hours will vary based on business needs and availability. This position will be 30-40 hours.
*Weekend and some holiday availability is required*
Operating hours:
Monday - Saturday: 10 am - 9 pm
Sunday: 11 am - 7 pm
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
