Job Title: Field Sales Development Representative (Field SDR)
Location: Springfield, IL (Onsite)
Duration: 3+ Months (Contract)
Role Overview:
In-Field Sales Development Representative (SDR)
The Field SDR is responsible for engaging restaurant prospects in person, introducing our Client, and generating qualified meetings for the Outside Sales team. This is a highly field-driven role focused on building relationships, driving pipeline, and supporting revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Visit a high volume of restaurant prospects within your territory each week
- Identify owners or key decision-makers and build trust through brief in-person interactions
- Deliver a clear and compelling pitch on how Client can help restaurants grow orders, attract new customers, and improve operations
- Accurately log visits, conversations, and meeting outcomes in Salesforce and other tools
- Partner with Outside Account Executives on target accounts and follow-up strategies
- Plan and prioritize daily routes to maximize productivity and meeting generation
- Follow up with merchants via phone, text, and email to confirm meetings and maintain engagement
- Meet and exceed weekly and monthly performance targets (meetings set, meetings held, revenue impact)
- Provide market feedback to improve Client’s sales approach and product offerings
Candidate Profile:
- Comfortable engaging in high-volume, in-person interactions daily
- Resilient, able to handle rejection, and maintain momentum
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in the field
- Competitive, goal-oriented, and driven by performance-based incentives
- Organized in managing time, territory, and follow-ups
- Strong communicator, both in person and in writing
- Coachable and eager to build a long-term career in sales
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience in outbound sales, canvassing, field marketing, or customer-facing roles
- Experience may include sales, hospitality, retail, or service industries
- Comfortable with frequent, short, in-person conversations
- Ability to clearly communicate the Client value proposition
- Experience with Salesforce, Outreach, or similar CRM tools is a plus
- Restaurant, food & beverage, or local business experience is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Willingness to travel within the assigned territory
- Flexibility to work restaurant-friendly hours (early mornings, evenings, occasional weekends)
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while visiting merchants
- Ability to drive frequently within the assigned territory
- Ability to carry light materials such as flyers, one-pagers, or a tablet
