Construction Crew Foreman

LKM Mowing and Landscaping has been a trusted provider of landscape, lawn care, and hardscape services in the Bloomington-Normal area since 2001. As a family-owned company, LKM is dedicated to creating beautiful outdoor living spaces for both residential and commercial clients. The Construction Crew Foreman will play a key leadership role, overseeing skilled wood construction projects such as decks, pergolas, pavilions, and fences. This position offers the opportunity to combine hands-on carpentry expertise with team supervision, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and client satisfaction in a dynamic outdoor environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a crew on wood construction projects, including building, installing, and finishing decks, pergolas, pavilions, fences, and similar outdoor structures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to plan daily tasks and ensure accurate project execution.
• Assign tasks, monitor progress, provide on-the-job training, and motivate the team to achieve quality results efficiently.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, and other trades to ensure smooth workflow and client satisfaction.
• Enforce safety protocols, including proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Perform hands-on carpentry work, such as framing, decking, post setting, railing installation, and finishing.
• Manage materials, tools, and equipment on site; report any issues or needs promptly.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site, including daily cleanup and waste removal.
• Track project progress, report daily or weekly updates, and help resolve any challenges that arise.
• Uphold LKM's reputation for quality and professionalism in all client interactions.

Qualifications

• Experience as a foreman, lead carpenter, or similar role in wood construction (decks, pergolas, fences, pavilions, or related outdoor structures).
• Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials (such as pressure-treated lumber and composites), tools, and best practices for outdoor builds.
• Ability to read blueprints and measurements accurately.
• Valid driver's license.
• Physically able to perform demanding outdoor work, including lifting, climbing, and working in various weather conditions.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
