Bartender
The Bartender role at eden is earned through hard work, professionalism, respect, attention to detail, and dedication to the systems established by the beverage management team. This position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment while maintaining consistency, composure, and strong guest engagement at all times.
The ideal candidate works collaboratively with the entire bar and service team, takes pride in their craft, and consistently exemplifies the energy, hospitality, and culture we aim to present to every guest who walks through our doors.
Key Responsibilities
- Open and prepare the bar for service according to company standards
- Prepare cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages with consistency and accuracy
- Take orders and provide attentive service to guests seated at the bar
- Prepare beverages for dining room service tickets in a timely and organized manner
- Ensure all cocktails and beverages meet presentation and quality standards before leaving the bar
- Maintain strong product knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and menu offerings
- Assist with wine service and beverage recommendations when needed
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the bar area throughout service
- Properly restock liquor, beer, wine, garnishes, glassware, and bar supplies
- Follow all opening, closing, and side-work procedures
- Handle cash, tabs, and POS transactions accurately and responsibly
- Communicate effectively with bartenders, servers, managers, kitchen staff, and support staff
- Help create a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment
- Ensure responsible alcohol service and compliance with all local and state liquor laws
- Anticipate guest needs and deliver hospitality-focused service at all times
- Assist with inventory organization and bar maintenance as directed by management
- Support special events, private dining experiences, and beverage programming when needed
Requirements
- Previous bartending experience preferred in upscale or high-volume hospitality environments
- Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, wine, and beverage service standards
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Professional appearance and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
- Must be dependable, punctual, and coachable
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must meet all legal requirements for alcohol service certification in Illinois
