Job Title: CNC Lathe Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist capable of setting up and running production for CNC turning lathe machines. This role involves assisting with complex part programming for multi-spindle, multi-tool turning centers, utilizing G and M codes and code programming, and live tooling. The ideal candidate will control tooling such as inserts and collets, understand and be aware of all department machinery capabilities and limitations, and accurately complete all necessary paperwork including routing verification and corrections.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC turning lathe machines.
• Assist in complex part programming for multi-spindle, multi-tool turning centers.
• Control tooling including inserts and collets.
• Monitor department machinery capabilities and limitations.
• Fill out necessary paperwork including routing verification and corrections.
• Determine tooling and fixturing needs.
• Coordinate chip collection as needed.
• Monitor equipment and machines for safety and mechanical issues.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of setup knowledge of CNC Lathe experience.
• 5+ years of on-the-job experience.
• Proficiency with G and M codes and code programming.
• Experience with Okuma, Hardinge, and DMG Mori machines.
• Experience working in a job shop environment.
• Ability to read blueprints and troubleshoot machines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical or machining courses are desirable.
• Editing skills are a plus.
• Ability to lift and carry 20-45 pounds.
• Occasional stooping and reaching frequently.
• Standing frequently and walking occasionally.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roscoe, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $32.00/hr.
