Wellness Coach
- Provides equipment orientations to members and helps them with the technology involved with the consoles and the mobile app.
- Maintains and cleans equipment according to the schedule or as requested by supervisor.
- Maintains gym floor by re-racking weights and stocking towels/cleaner as needed.
- Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living. Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.
- Builds effective, authentic relationships with members. Helps members connect with each other and the YMCA. Introduces new members to group exercise communities based on their health and well-being goals.
- Utilizes tools and information for the purpose of increasing member knowledge of wellness and wellness programs provided through the YMCA including the YMCA app, handouts and schedules.
- Follows YMCA policies and procedures. Responds to emergency situations.
- Attends all staff meetings.
- Ensures a strong focus on character development and diversity, equity and inclusion throughout programming.
- Reports damaged equipment or safety hazards promptly.
- Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Rock River Valley.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Fitness knowledge preferred
- Comfortable with fitness related technology
- CPR, AED and First Aid certifications required within 90 days
