Fertilizer Technician

LKM Mowing and Landscaping is a locally owned, full-service lawn care and landscaping company serving the Bloomington-Normal, IL area. As a Fertilizer Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining the health and appearance of our clients’ lawns and landscapes. This hands-on, outdoor position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outside, take pride in their work, and are committed to delivering high-quality results. Responsibilities

• Apply granular and liquid fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and soil amendments to residential and commercial properties using calibrated equipment.
• Safely mix, load, and handle chemicals in accordance with label instructions, company protocols, and all applicable regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of applications, service logs, and client notes using digital systems.
• Communicate professionally with clients on-site, answer questions, and identify opportunities for additional services.
• Follow all safety procedures, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team and manage daily routes efficiently to complete scheduled stops on time.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain an Illinois pesticide applicator license (company provides training, study materials, and covers licensing fees).
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and stand or walk for extended periods.
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented with a strong focus on safety.
• Previous experience in lawn care, landscaping, or chemical application is preferred but not required—training is provided for the right candidate.
