Job Summary

Are you a dedicated and hardworking team member who has a passion for all things maintenance? Wilton Industries is seeking a Maintenance Aid, someone with the ability to conduct general tasks that support maintenance technicians at our warehouse facility in Romeoville, IL. Your daily responsibilities will include supporting the maintenance team to ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of facilities and equipment within our distribution center.

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform routine checks, addressing minor repair needs, and facilitate the efficient completion of maintenance requests.
• Participate in the inspection of buildings, facilities, and equipment to identify repair needs and safety hazards.
• Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and tools, ensuring availability and condition for use.
• Perform emergency custodial duties in the event of spills, leaks, or other immediate cleanliness or safety concerns.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to prevent disruptions, ensuring optimal efficiencies in operations.
• Help in maintaining outdoor areas by performing landscaping, snow removal, and exterior cleaning as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma preferred.
• Prior experience in maintenance roles required.
• Conveyor and/or industrial equipment experience (pallet jacks and/or forklifts) is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must have the ability to work with specific instructions and general supervision following standard procedures.
• Ability to organize time and prioritize schedule to complete all tasks during shift.
• Knowledge of general warehouse facility terms and materials.
• Ability to work overtime as required.

Physical Demands

• This role requires regular movement throughout the office, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, crawl, sit, talk, move about, hear and speak.
• May be required to work in restricted spaces and/or under difficult lighting and access conditions.
• Work environment where the noise level varies and can be loud, subject to variable temperatures and weather.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and be able to use appropriate support equipment to lift and move greater amounts.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Employee is required to use safety equipment as is appropriate to the work to prevent injury to self or others.
