PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
To clean and maintain all public areas including all restrooms, locker rooms, corridors, offices, Flavors of Langham shop, and the hotel entrance area. It is imperative that all public areas be kept in impeccable condition in accordance with Langham and Forbes standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:
- Thoroughly clean sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, tiles, counters, walls, and stalls, vents and/or floors with appropriate cleaning agents. Adhere to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning agents.
- Sweep and mop all flooring, which includes all hard surfaces.
- Thoroughly dust all furniture, pictures, and shelves.
- Vacuuming of the public areas including corridors and all hallways. Vacuum non--public and back of house areas.
- Thoroughly clean and polish all metal surfaces, using appropriate cleaning agents.
- Empty trash.
- Provide general assistance to guests, including instruction and/or guidance for guest and employee safety in fire or other emergency situations.
- Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, colleagues may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to extend arms, scrub, bend, stoop, and stand and walk public areas for extended periods of time.
- Considerable walking and standing are required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various cleaning equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow directions and perform job functions under limited supervision.
- Basic ability to comprehend English language sufficient to understanding information such as safety labels and instructions.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High School graduate preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Prior hotel housekeeping experience preferred.

SALARY RANGE:
$21.41 - $26.76/hour
