We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Dispatcher Lead to oversee our dispatching operations within our logistics team. This pivotal role involves coordinating transportation activities, managing freight movements, and leading a team of dispatchers to ensure timely deliveries. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, excellent analysis abilities, and a deep understanding of transportation management systems to optimize routes and improve overall efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the dispatching team to coordinate daily transportation schedules and freight movements
• Monitor real-time vehicle locations using GPS and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools to ensure optimal routing
• Utilize transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine for data entry, shipment tracking, and reporting
• Oversee shipping & receiving processes, including freight documentation and warehouse coordination
• Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette
• Analyze transportation data to identify inefficiencies, suggest improvements, and support supply chain optimization
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, fleet management protocols, and 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) requirements

Skills

• Proficiency with GIS, GPS technology, and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine
• Strong understanding of logistics, freight operations, and supply chain principles
• Excellent analysis skills for route planning, data interpretation, and problem-solving
• Experience in dispatching within a logistics or transportation environment
• Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures and fleet management practices
• Effective communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette
• Typing proficiency for efficient data entry on systems like AS400 or similar platforms
• Familiarity with 3PL operations, shipping & receiving processes, and warehouse coordination
• Ability to manage multi-line phone systems and handle high-volume communication efficiently
