Recovery Support Specialist- Teen Wellness Center
- Assist the youth with developing positive social skills with other children and adults
- Assist the youth with building positive and healthy relationships
- Provide the youth with positive reinforcement to build confidence
- Provide services face to face, via phone, office, home, or community setting
- Improve the youth’s connection and engagement within their community
- Educate, model, and motivate the youth to increase their involvement with others in their community
- Focus on a strengths-based approach
- Assist the youth in self-advocacy
- Identify and provide information about the child’s needs and strengths
- Identification and building of natural supports
- Facilitate groups and other programs designed to support and educate the youth
- Responsible for the timely submission of Medicaid mental health billing
- Participates in weekly team meeting
- Completes daily paperwork and data collection notes in a detailed, accurate, consistent and timely manner
- Ensures that all documentation is accurate and upholds Trinity Services’ mission, values, and operational needs
- Writes session notes accurately, and other requested written assignments related to the clients
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Excellent interpersonal skills, cultural competency, and experience with diverse populations

- Ability and knowledge of basic computer programs for service documentation and report writing
- Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
- Operate motor vehicles
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach, stoop kneel to install computer equipment
- Physical activities that could be used include: driving, balancing, pulling, pushing, standing, climbing, grasping, stooping, crouching, crawling, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and repetitive motion.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Lived experience in mental health recovery and/or substance use recovery, with the ability to share personal recovery stories in a professional setting.
- Certification as a Peer Support Specialist (or equivalent) preferred or willingness to obtain certification within 1 year of employment.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in peer support or a similar role, preferably with youth.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals.
- Must have a valid driver’s license in the state of Illinois
