Job Description
Join a highly organized production team as a Line Operator on 3rd shift, rotating through multiple stations on Line 1 to support the safe and efficient manufacturing, heat treatment, cooling, painting, and inspection of blades. You will work in a clean, structured environment, following a team-based operating rhythm to ensure consistent quality and on-time output.
Responsibilities
- Rotate through all four Line 1 positions during each 8-hour shift as part of a team-based operating rhythm.
- Place blades onto the conveyor line that feeds the oven or furnace, ensuring correct positioning and spacing.
- Use hand tools or grabbers to safely remove heated blades from the conveyor and place them into the press.
- Remove blades from the press and place them into the quench to cool, following established safety and quality procedures.
- Hang cooled blades on the line for painting and ensure they are properly secured for the painting process.
- Remove painted blades from the line and prepare them for quality inspection and shipment.
- Perform visual and physical inspections of parts to identify quality defects and ensure products meet specifications.
- Follow standard operating procedures and production schedules to maintain consistent output and minimize downtime.
- Work closely with teammates to maintain a steady flow of work between stations and support a smooth production rhythm.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following 5S and housekeeping standards.
- Use measuring tools and basic production equipment accurately and safely as required by each station.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, including safe handling of hot parts and equipment near the furnace and oven.
- Communicate any equipment issues, safety concerns, or quality problems promptly to the appropriate personnel.
- Participate in training and cross-training to build proficiency at each Line 1 position.
- Experience in general labor, production, or manufacturing environments.
- Ability to work effectively on an assembly line and operate basic production or machine equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify quality defects in parts.
- Ability to use measuring tools accurately to support quality and production requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to stand on your feet for 10-hour shifts while rotating among stations.
- Ability to lift 40–50 lbs safely as part of regular job duties.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work within a structured, team-based operating rhythm.
- Solid critical thinking skills to follow processes and respond appropriately to issues on the line.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or machine operation role is beneficial.
- Comfort working in areas that may become hot due to ovens or furnaces.
- Willingness to learn multiple stations and adapt to rotating responsibilities.
- Openness to training and coaching on specific production processes and operating rhythm.

Work Environment
The facility is clean, very organized, and structured around a dedicated production line, with additional departments including welding, shipping and receiving, and engineering. Line Operators work 10-hour shifts and rotate among stations, with openings on 3rd shift from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. (other shifts operate from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.). Some stations, particularly those near the furnace or oven, can become hot, and one station involves handling hot parts with a grabber. The role requires being on your feet for most of the shift and lifting 40–50 lbs as needed. New hires participate in an orientation that includes a facility tour, lunch, and time observing experienced employees to build a clear understanding of expectations before working independently.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rock Island, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
