Circulation Clerk

This is a part-time opportunity averaging 18 hours per week, with a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, and Saturdays. Get ready to make a difference and grow with us!

Responsibilities

· Be the face of the Library! Deliver outstanding service while staffing the Circulation Desk for most of your scheduled hours (75–100%).

· Keep the library moving — check materials in and out, issue library cards, collect fines, and manage renewals, and shelve materials.

· Master our circulation systems to handle every transaction quickly, accurately, and efficiently.

· Be a go-to resource for our patrons by solving routine problems, answering questions, and making sure every visitor leaves with a great experience.

Necessary Knowledge

· Ability to quickly learn and navigate computerized circulation systems.

· Strong customer service skills with professionalism, courtesy, and discretion.

· Basic proficiency with a mouse, keyboard, and phone operations.

· Ability to operate a cash register and handle cash transactions accurately.

· Physical ability to stand for extended periods, bend, reach, stoop, lift up to 20 pounds, and access library materials.

Qualifications

· Flexible, reliable, and able to adapt to scheduling needs.

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· Strong customer service skills essential.

· Previous library experience preferred.

· Spanish language skills a plus.

· Must have reliable transportation.

The salary range for this position is $14,040 - $16, 455 based on skills and qualifications. Salary starts at $15.00 per hour. Benefits include paid holidays, and pro-rated paid personal time.
