Summary
The CFS Customer Service is responsible for assisting with all aspects of import and export logistics, data entry, freight cashier routing, and Inland Point Intermodal (IPI) freight. The ideal candidate will have great record-keeping abilities and a customer-oriented approach. The goal is to ensure smooth operations in support of the business. This is an excellent and exciting position for an entry level person who will learn what is involved in importing and exporting goods into and out of the United States.
Roles and Responsibilities
Position responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Accurately track and trace cargo, as well as dispatching and load planning.
- Maintain excellent relationships with customers, carriers and partner warehouses.
- Coordination of Import shipments from port of arrival to carrier pickup at CFS.
- Coordination of Export shipment arrivals to CFS to final outbound loading.
- Maintain standard operating procedures and customer special requirements.
- Check shipments in the warehouse as needed.
- Resolve issues respective to meeting client requirements and general customer service inquiries.
- Process transactions with drivers at the routing window.
- Resolve any shipping related issues, such as delays, damages, or discrepancies.
- Close shipments, invoicing and filing.
- Data entry into the internal operating system.
- Immediately report problems, operation disputes or discrepancies to supervisor.
- Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High School or GED equivalent
- Bachelor's Degree is encouraged but not required
- Minimum of 1+ years' experience in an office environment
- 1-2 years in the Logistics or Shipping Industry encouraged but not required
- Global Supply Chain knowledge helpful
