Landscape Crew Foreman

Landscape foremen oversee crews of groundskeepers, coordinating workers' efforts to ensure proper maintenance of the grounds and use of equipment under their care. Must have valid drivers' license and the ability to be a leader to a crew of 1-2 subordinates and ensure timeliness and efficiency of scheduled landscape jobs.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate and direct crew in all aspects of the tasks given by the company owner as directed by customers
Schedule employees and oversee equipment operation as well as ensuring that the property under their charge is maintained to company and customer standards
Be responsible for training employees in their tasks
Have the ability to use multiple types of outdoor equipment, from hand tools like rakes and shovels to motorized vehicles, such as lawn mowers and trucks
Be able to work with herbicides or other chemicals (must possess applicator's license or become licensed)
Be responsible for the supervision and maintenance of newly acquired properties, in addition to maintaining existing grounds.
Oversee and partake in all mowing activities and other such horticultural duties as directed by owner
Oversee and maintain safe and proper use of all tools and machinery by the entire crew

Qualifications:

Customer-Service oriented
Must have a valid Driver's License and have the proven ability to drive truck/trailer combination safely
Must be able to commute reliably to this job's location
Must be able to work independently as well as with a team
Must be mechanically-inclined and be able to fix minor issues without supervision
Must be deadline-oriented
Must be punctual and a self-starter
Must have at least 1 year of experience in hardscape applications such as retaining walls, paver patios, shrub and tree care, and general landscape bed maintenance
Must have at least 1 year of experience in the operations of equipment such as a bobcat and a compact excavator
