A highly regarded Chicago-area law firm is seeking a Trust and Estate Litigation Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have experience handling contested probate, trust, and fiduciary matters, as well as a strong understanding of estate administration and related litigation. Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Admission to the Illinois Bar in good standing
• 2+ years of experience in trust and estate litigation, probate disputes, or fiduciary litigation
• Strong knowledge of Illinois probate law and trust administration procedures
• Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Experience handling discovery, depositions, mediations, and court appearances
• Ability to manage cases independently while working collaboratively with colleagues
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and client relationship skills

Responsibilities

• Represent beneficiaries, trustees, executors, and other fiduciaries in complex trust and estate disputes
• Handle all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, and trials
• Draft and respond to petitions involving will contests, breach of fiduciary duty, undue influence, and accounting actions
• Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies to achieve client objectives
• Attend hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences before probate courts
• Advise clients on dispute resolution, estate administration, and fiduciary responsibilities
• Maintain regular communication with clients and provide status updates and case evaluations
• Collaborate with estate planning and administration attorneys within the firm to provide comprehensive client service
