Mailroom and Dock Coordinator

Summary

An experienced Mailroom/Dock Coordinator is needed for on-site, full-time work located in downtown Chicago. The Coordinator is responsible for processing all inbound and outbound mail and receiving/shipping via our local dock. While effectively performing a variety of duties in this position, the Coordinator delivers exceptional customer service. This is a key support position for many coworkers and strong communication skills are necessary. Success in this position requires reliability, attention to detail, follow-through and the ability to meet daily deadlines while working independently.

Main Accountabilities

• Coordinates the day-to-day operation of the mailroom.
• Coordinates dock deliveries and assists with outbound shipments from the dock.
• Receives, sorts and delivers inbound mail.
• Processes outbound mail utilizing electronic postage meter.
• Processes outbound packages utilizing the UPS computer system.
• Delivers mail/packages to local post office and UPS depot locations within walking distance.
• Records and reports postage usage to the accounting department.
• Maintains and orders supplies for mailroom functionality.
• Keeps mailing and stock areas clean and free of debris.
• Maintains printed material storage and conducts regular inventory.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent
• 3 yrs experience including UPS computer system, Pitney-Bowes USPS meter and order fulfillment.
• 3 yrs doc experience including the use of pallet moving equipment.
• Basic Microsoft Office experience with solid understanding of Outlook email.
• Solid communication and excellent customer service skills.
• Full fluency in English required, bi-lingual Spanish a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Able to function in a noisy and dusty environment.
• Comfortable working in various climate conditions where temperatures may fluctuate.
• Able to safely bend, reach, lift, stand or sit for long periods of time.
• Able to navigate stairs and walk in an efficient and safe manner.
• Able to safely operate equipment used to move and transport pallets.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time
Hourly Wage from $22.00
