OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Data Analytics to lead our corporate data analytics team. This role is pivotal in driving data-driven decision-making across the organization by leveraging information within Gallagher’s enterprise data warehouse to deliver reporting and analysis to finance and management teams. The Director of Data Analytics will partner closely with IT and data governance in developing data strategies, managing data projects, and assessing the value and quality of data integrated into our enterprise data warehouse.
How you'll make an impact- Research company and industry trends using data collected from numerous internal and external systems. Enterprise data sets include client information, detailed insurance information about client’s policies, claims, operational information, and industry-specific data sets.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve analytics capabilities.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of data models, dashboards, and reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business solutions. Develop and implement comprehensive data analytics strategies aligned with business goals.
- Measure and monitor quality of data integrated into the enterprise data warehouse. Partner with data governance and operations teams to improve data quality.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and partners to deliver data projects.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of analytics initiatives.
- Lead and manage the data analytics team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Mentor and develop team members, promoting professional growth and skill development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in data analytics, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in the insurance, financial, or risk management industries preferred as this experience helps accelerate learnings from larger insurance data sets.
- Demonstrated ability to perform exploratory data analysis and research, including an ability to draw conclusions from data sets.
- Familiarity with programming languages used for data analysis (such as Python or SQL).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
