Corporate Associate Attorney – Investment Services
Location: Chicago, Illinois; Washington, DC
Practice Area: Investment Management / Registered Funds
Experience: 4–7 years
Compensation: $290,000–$350,000

Direct Cousel is seeking a Corporate Associate to join a highly respected Am Law firm in its Investment Services team in Chicago or Washington, DC . This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 4–7 years of investment management and federal securities regulatory experience to join a collaborative, client-facing practice with meaningful responsibility and strong mentorship.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience advising:

• Registered investment companies
• Investment advisers
• Mutual funds
• Exchange-traded funds (ETFs)
• Closed-end funds
• Independent trustees and directors

Candidates should also have substantive experience with:

• Regulatory and compliance matters under the Investment Company Act of 1940
• Federal securities law issues under the Securities Act of 1933
• Investment company reorganizations and mergers
• Fund governance and board matters
• Managing multiple sophisticated matters simultaneously
• Leading key workstreams and participating directly in client service initiatives

The practice offers exposure to a multidisciplinary platform , allowing associates to work closely with senior attorneys on transactional, regulatory, governance, and business development matters .

Candidates should bring:

• Strong academic credentials
• Excellent drafting and communication skills
• Ability to manage matters independently
• A client-service mindset with strong interpersonal skills
• Admission (or path to admission) in the applicable jurisdiction
