Capex Manager

$100,000 – $110,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
We’re seeking a skilled Capex Manager to oversee and manage capital expenditure projects across a large multifamily real estate portfolio. This role is key to maintaining and enhancing property quality through unit renovations, upgrades, repairs, and major improvement projects.
The ideal candidate is an organized, hands-on professional with strong project management skills and experience overseeing contractors, budgets, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all phases of capital projects — from bidding and scope development to execution and closeout.
- Oversee a team of associates and coordinators, as well as third-party vendors handling renovations, repairs, and upgrades.
- Ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Build and maintain relationships with contractors and service providers, holding them accountable for performance and cost control.
- Collaborate with maintenance, property management, and leadership teams to align priorities and resolve issues.
- Track budgets, performance, and progress; provide regular updates to leadership.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency in project execution and vendor management.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Real Estate, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 4+ years of experience managing capital projects or construction in a real estate environment.
- Proven ability to manage vendors, contractors, and multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive problem solver.
