Lab Technician

Job Description

The role involves ensuring adherence to lab safety guidelines, creating and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and collaborating with production to test all incoming raw materials.

Responsibilities

• Adhere strictly to laboratory safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards.

• Develop, revise, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality in laboratory practices.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with the production team to conduct comprehensive testing of all incoming raw materials.

• Perform routine microbiological analyses, including detection of bacteria, yeast, and mold, as well as identity verification using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR).

• Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of all laboratory procedures, test results, and quality control activities.

• Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and other departments to support operational efficiency and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Biology or Microbiology

• Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

• Proficiency with FTIR testing.

• Ability to create and write SOPs.

• Experience in microbiology testing, including bacteria, yeast, mold, and identity testing using FTIR.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Libertyville, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
