Christophe’s Fine Foods is a chef-driven prepared foods market and curated gourmet shop opening late summer 2026 in Lincoln Park. We’re building the kind of neighborhood store that doesn’t really exist anymore — restaurant-quality food made daily in-house, a carefully edited selection of wine, cheese, charcuterie, and pantry goods, and a level of hospitality you don’t expect to find at a market.
We’re looking for a Market Manager to run the floor, lead the team, and be the face of the store to our guests. You’ll report directly to and work alongside the owner, who is on the floor every day — this is a flat structure, and decisions get made quickly. This is a founding role — the person who takes it will help shape what this place becomes.
What You’ll Own
- Daily floor operations — opening, service, closing, everything in between
- Guest checkout and POS — hands-on at the register whenever the floor needs it
- Guest experience from the moment someone walks in to the moment they leave
- Team hiring, training, scheduling, and development
- Inventory, receiving, ordering, and vendor relationships on the retail side
- Merchandising — cheese case, wine, pantry, grab-and-go displays
- Maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and visual standards of the store
- Supporting events, tastings, and community programming
- Coordinating closely with the Executive Chef on prepared foods execution and product rotation
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years in a leadership role in hospitality, specialty retail, market, or restaurant operations
- Genuine knowledge of and enthusiasm for food, wine, and cheese
- Someone who leads by example on the floor, not from behind a desk
- Strong communication — with guests, with the team, and with ownership
- Organized and systems-minded without losing the human side of hospitality
- Experience with scheduling, inventory, and POS systems
- Flexible availability including weekends
