Precision Mechanical Assembly Technician

A day in this role

As a Precision Mechanical Assembly Technician at W. H. Leary, you’ll be a hands-on builder who keeps production and operations moving. Your day blends craftsmanship, accuracy, and teamwork—assembling parts, preparing components, validating quality, and helping ensure finished products get where they need to go.

From your bench, you’ll collaborate across teams, interpret exploded-view drawings and manufacturing instructions, and apply sharp attention to detail to deliver reliable, on-spec assemblies.

What you’ll do

• Learn the company’s parts, sub-assemblies, and raw materials to build confidently and efficiently.
• Assemble diverse mechanical components using manufacturing instructions and exploded-view drawings.
• Prepare parts and sub-assemblies for downstream assemblies and/or repairs.
• Verify every build meets company standards and specifications.
• Provide actionable feedback to improve exploded-view drawings and manufacturing instructions.
• Report discrepancies in instructions, drawings, and/or bills of materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and support material flow.
• Conduct thorough quality inspections on parts and products.
• Package and prepare finished products for shipment.

What you bring

• Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly, or a closely related field.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and advanced manual dexterity.
• Comfort with basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Bonus

• 2–5 years of mechanical background.
