Duration: 12 Months (Full-time) – Potential for 12-month extension based on performance and budget

Job Description
The FDI Analyst will strengthen awareness of investment opportunities in Italy and assist U.S. companies in establishing or expanding Italian operations. You will report to the Trade Commissioner in Chicago and collaborate with the Italy-based Foreign Investment Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Intelligence: Conduct screening of potential U.S. investors and maintain the ITA CRM database.
- Lead Generation: Identify and scout potential investors through research, networking, and attendance at trade shows and workshops.
- Promotion & Marketing: Educate U.S. companies on Italy’s regulatory framework and competitive advantages.
- Investor Support: Provide after-care services and continuity for existing investors throughout the investment lifecycle.
- Stakeholder Relations: Develop relationships with local authorities, business multipliers, and corporate officers.
Priority Focus sectors: Advanced Manufacturing, Robotics and Automation, Industrial Machinery and Mechatronics, Logistics and Infrastructures, Automotive, Food Industry and Agri tech, Real Estate.
Secondary Focus Sectors: Chemical Industry, Circular Economy, Design and Furniture, Fashion, Greentech, Information and Communication technology, Aerospace, Microelectronics and Semiconductors, Life Science.
Requirements & Qualifications
Mandatory:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS).
- US Citizenship or Green Card holder (ITA does not sponsor visas).
- US Fiscal Residence.
- Fluent in English and proficient in Italian (written and spoken).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.).
- Familiar with the main FDI specialized database
- Knowledge of U.S. and Italian industrial frameworks and institutions.
- Proactive, result-oriented with excellent communication skills, meticulous project management, and budgeting skills, adept at multitasking and collaborative teamwork.
- Availability for domestic and international travel
Preferential:
- Master’s Degree or PhD.
- Prior experience with Italian entities and/or U.S.-based companies, government institutions, or experience in investment banking/consulting or related field.
Salary and Compensation
Yearly compensation will be between $65,000.00 and $75,000.00, gross of taxes and any other dues. ITA may also pay in its absolute discretion a one-time bonus of up to $30,000 subject to the achievement of targets agreed in the contract. Due to the fiscal status of Italian Trade Agency in the USA, the candidate shall be solely and fully responsible for taxes and all related fiscal requirements requested by US laws, both at federal level and state level. Health insurance coverage will not be offered.
Duration
Full-time job: 40 hours per week from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mon-Fri including 1 hour lunch break
