Receptionist

The City of East Peoria is seeking a dependable and customer-focused individual to serve as a Receptionist. This position is responsible for providing front-line customer service for water and sewer customers, processing payments for various City services, answering incoming telephone calls, and performing general office support and clerical duties.

Preferred candidates will have a working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and modern office practices, along with a basic understanding of accounting principles. Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Candidates must demonstrate strong mathematical, organizational, and time management abilities, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to work independently while maintaining positive working relationships.

Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have at least one (1) year of experience in customer service and/or accounting or finance. Candidates are required to reside within twenty-five (25) miles of the East Peoria corporate limits. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a physical examination, drug screening, and a comprehensive background check.

The pay range for this full-time, non-exempt position is $18.00 to $22.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience (DOQE), and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
